The Drain and restore Lake Pedder, Tasmania Facebook group now has over 1200 members. The group is dedicated to the restoration of Lake Pedder as it was before it was flooded by the Hydro Electric Commission in the early 1970s.
The group was formed by Neil Cripps of Hobart (Tasmania) and seeks to pressure the Tasmanian and Australian Governments to have Lake Pedder in Tasmania’s South West Wilderness drained so that all future generations can appreciate the magnificence of the original lake and National Park. The group works closely with the Lake Pedder Restoration Committee.
Drain and restore Lake Pedder is an open group and welcomes people to join who share its ideals.
